Description

Airflow into which models can be inserted. The propulsion is provided by a fan downstream of the working section. The tunnel consists of a bell-mouth-shaped entry to guide the air smoothly into a settling chamber consisting of a honeycomb and nylon mesh screens which filter and stabilise the airflow. This follows a working section or test section where various models can be tested. Two windows with acrylic sheets, one each on either side, will be provided for visual observation. The working section is followed by the diffuser section, which reduces the dynamic pressure at the exit. A three-blade fan coupled with a DC variable-speed motor is used to produce the desired wind velocity. A thyristorised motor control is used for smooth variation of air velocity.
